This case was settled during the second week of trial. Plaintiff was injured when a tractor trailer hit the back of his motorcycle. The total amount of the settlement from the trucking company and the truck driver was Six Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($6,500,000). The trucking company argued its driver was an owner operator and he was on "personal" time at the time of the crash. Plaintiff argued the driver was in the course and scope of employment at the time of the crash. -
